# Comments in Canvas expression editor

Is there a way to add comments in the Canvas expression editor?
I have created a rather complex expression with multiple pipes to work around a Canvas limitation ([timezones](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/23075)), and want to document _how_ and _why_ I did it, with short instructions on how I think it should work once the limitation is resolved.
I've tried `#comment` and `//comment`, as well as `` and `/*comment*/` to no avail. Searching on the documentation didn't help either.
Any ideas?

There isn't, but it would make a good [enhancement request](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues) 🙂
