# Configuration of two data nodes.while one is going down there is no data getting to the indexes

Hi All,
I am using an Elastic search of 9 nodes which includes 2 data nodes. I am facing an issue like if one data node goes down .the all the data will be lost .there I a,m not getting any backup data.
what I am thinking is like in two data nodes if one goes down others will take care as a backup.

You have 2 nodes of data and the remainders are of what role?

rest are masters ,co ordinate node and ingest node

my data node 1 goes down because of the heap memory issue.
