# Considering using L4 or kafka

im considering two ways.  
first, using L4 between Beats and logstash.  
second, using Kafka between beats and logstahs.

which way is more effective one?

and im wondering if is it possible Beats - Kafka - L4 - Logstash.

What do you mean by `L4`? It is not clear, please provide context.

Do you mean a Layer 4 load balancer?

Also, more effective regarding what? What you want to achieve with those tools?
