# Control filter in kibana doesnt work properly

Hi
I am a beginner here .
Currently, we use Control Filter in Kibana Dashboards, but this filter doesn't work as we expected, so that it can't recommend us what are the available values for each field.
which are the other option or plugin that i can use here

Hi @Apoorva_Shandilya,
What are the fields for which you have controls? With fields of `keyword` type, it can show an autocomplete for values depending on the current time range and previous controls (controls to the left from the current one).

I have 3 fields with controls all of them of keyword type .
But autocomplete is not working here .

Is autocomplete working for the same fields in the query bar or when creating a filter?
It could be that your current dashboard configuration is too strict and it does not find matching documents. Could you please try to create a new dashboard with just one of those controls to check the autocomplete? And expand the time range via time filter in the top right corner to make sure that it includes documents (if data is time based).

No to the autocomplete is not working .

What Kibana version do you use?
Could you please also share mapping for these fields and some expected values?
