# Controls visualization

hello,
how can I achieve the following:
I have a dashboard with 20 visualizations. (their index pattern is client\*)
1 of them is a dropdown with clients list.
can I make the user to select a client from the dropdown, before he runs the dashboard? (make this drop down mandatory field in the dashboard level)

@liorg2 I don't believe it is currently possible to prompt the user to select a value for the dropdown menu before displaying your visualizations in the dashboard.
