# Copy template from elastic to elastic

Hi,

I have a template on one machine and want the same exact template copied into my other ES.

Help will be amazing!

Here is the template (sorry it's in a pic. and not text I can't ctl+c/ctl+p from this machine) :

you can retrieve concrete templates from the one cluster using the [get template API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/5.6/indices-templates.html#getting) and then use that output and put the template into your new cluster.

There is no automatic step to do this.
