# Corrupt index in Logstash causing primary shard is not active

Elasticsearch Version- opendistroforelasticsearch-1.4.0  
Logstash Version - logstash-7.4.2

Error on Logstash:  
retrying failed action with response code: 503 ({"type"=\>"unavailable\_shards\_exception", "reason"=\>"[ABC-2023.05][0] primary shard is not active Timeout: [1m], request: [BulkShardRequest [[ABC-2023.05][0]] containing [11] requests]"})

I'm okay to loose data for that index.  
What could be the possible solution

Opendistro is not supported here, you need to check on an Opendistro/AWS forum.

But your error mean that for some reason the primary shard of your index is not available, you need to investigate why.

Also, you changed the name of your index before sharing the log, right? `ABC-2023.05` is not a valid index name.
