Hi Everyone,

I am new to elk stack. I am trying to configure it base on [https://www.itzgeek.com/how-tos/linux/centos-how-tos/updated-install-elasticsearch-logstash-and-kibana-elk-stack-on-centos-7-rhel-7.html](https://www.itzgeek.com/how-tos/linux/centos-how-tos/updated-install-elasticsearch-logstash-and-kibana-elk-stack-on-centos-7-rhel-7.html) this instruction. I saw some post from link below to help with issue couldn't find any elasticsearch data.
[Couldn't find any Elasticsearch data](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/couldnt-find-any-elasticsearch-data/121020)
I have the same issue with them. I tried type in [http://localhost:9200/\_cat/indices?v](http://localhost:9200/_cat/indices?v) and it only says "green open .kibana". The logstash doesn't show up any information. Could anyone help me troubleshoot my logstash configuration issue?

I so somebody said that we need to push sample data to elasticsearch. Can you give me a link for how to do that?

Thank you so much.

Have a look at this [introductory blog post](https://www.elastic.co/blog/a-practical-introduction-to-logstash) that shows how to work with Logstash.
