# Create Custom geoip database for Logstash 5.2

It might be easier to change the format of the lookup file to YAML and have each key point to a string that is a correctly formatted JSON object, like described [here](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/translate-issue/58052) (JSON) or [here](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/query-relational-db-based-on-a-field-value-in-logstash/42215) (csv), which were found through a simple search of the forum.
