# Create es index alias from logstash pipeline conf

Hi

I want to automate the alias creation for es index, currently I specify index name in elasticsearch output plugin, similarly can i specify index alias in the conf file or template file ? how to do this efficiently, I know I can create alias from UI or using curl, I wanted to automate it.
