# Create scripted field only showing expression or groovy as options

If I go to make a scripted field in kibanan (5.2) I'm only seeinf groovy or expression as the Language.
I wanted to use painless.
I've tried putting
script.engine.painless.inline: on
in my elasticsearch config, but it hasn't made a difference.

Hi Frances,
Can you try changing `on` to `true` and restarting the cluster? I don't believe we coerce `on` to a boolean.
