I am trying to cross compile filebeats to be run on nitrogen iMX6 hardware

I think it should, could you give us more details on the OS you are trying to compile one? Do you get any error while building?

CPU Name : Freescale i.MX6

CPU Cores : Single

OS : Linux Yocto (Morty Release)
