# Cumulative subtraction by Kibana

hello, please i want to do cumulative subtraction for points, how can i do it by kibana? is there a plugin or function?

hi @data_scientist,

what is this cumulative substraction you speak off? I'm not familiar with the concept.

Kibana/Elasticsearch does support serial differencing, which allows you to substract datapoints on fixed intervals. Maybe that's related to what you're looking for
