# Currently experiencing an issue when navigating to APM → Services → Transactions — the page is throwing an error and fails to load properly

Error while fetching resource

search\_phase\_execution\_exception: [illegal\_argument\_exception] Reason: Fielddata is disabled on [span.type] in [traces-apm-default]. Text fields are not optimised for operations that require per-document field data like aggregations and sorting, so these operations are disabled by default. Please use a keyword field instead. Alternatively, set fielddata=true on [span.type] in order to load field data by uninverting the inverted index. Note that this can use significant memory. (500)
