# Custom jvm.options in ElasticSearch for multinode configuration

Custom jvm.options in ElasticSearch for multinode configuration

i got this solution on the below link "You can use ES\_JVM\_OPTIONS to specify a custom path for the JVM options file."

my question is where and how do i use ES\_JVM\_OPTIONS

After checking elasticsearch.bat found that it is required to be set in path

> set ES\_JVM\_OPTIONS=d:\elasticsearch540\config\_node2\jvm.options
