# Customize Kibana Selection Options

Hi,

Is it possible to hide or remove some of the selection options in Kibana UI?

I particularly want to do this with the time-filter. Because our Elasticsearch index is huge including 5-years of historical data. But I only want the user to query no more than 1-year of data. Otherwise their search requests can blow up our Elasticsearch cluster. How can I hide or remove the option "Last 2 years" or "Last 5 years" from the UI?

You can change the preset ranges in the advanced settings, under time picker quick ranges.

Hi Lukas,

I'm using Kibana version 4.1. Is this setting available? I can't find it.

Also, I want to limit the auto-refresh frequency: remove all the options under "5 minutes". Is that possible?
