Hi all
I have a question regarding the storage comparision between having daily indices or monthly indices.
The question is very simple: is the daily indices tooks more storage space than the monthly indices. Somehow i feel like the daily indices tooks a bit more space due to the mapping and all the indices settings it has to store.

The reason i choose the daily indices is that i want to cut log size down to minimun to make it easier to backup those data.

And since this system has been runnig for very long now migrating to lifecyble policies will take a very long time and some down time and properly alot of error in storing data so not really my first choice.

And is there is other ways to cut down data size to minimun?
I have used the best\_compression in the index settings.
