# Daily Snapshot - Restore only one Week, Month

We're a planning to make an incremental backup of a single node ES Server and want to restore on demand e.g. a week or only a month. Is this in principle possible to do a filtering during restore or is the restore process of an index a full restore everytime i engange a "restore".  
Am i getting this right that if i e.g. snapshot an index daily and restore it daily to a different node i could delete e.g. data in the hot node since the snapshot has the data and the warm node hast all data which was produced? The thing is that it could be that we only want a portion of the index data in the warm node - that's why i'm looking for some "filtering" method so i can just import a month or the last 3 month.
