# Dashboard Backups

Can anyone recommend a programmatic way to import/export custom dashboards in Kibana? I realize that I can go into the UI and manually do this but would like to have a way to automate it, or, at minimum, make daily backups so I don't have to worry about anyones work getting erased accidentally.

Thanks and yes, thats an alternative but was kind of looking for a safe/official way. I would **really** love to manage our dashboards via SaltStack but i'd just be happy with a way of backing it up and restoring without having to worry.

Will keep it in mind for sure unless someone else has another way.
