# Data Encryption in Elastic

is there an Encryption feature in the Elastic document store ?  
can data be encrypted ?

There is not natively at the moment. There are 3rd parties that provide encryption, but at the cost of functionality.

You can encrypt the underlying disk though, using dmcrypt etc.
