I am unable to display my data using the recommended/accepted date format. I am not sure why all the data is appearing as a single line when this should be displayed as an area chart

You have a Date Range aggregation vs a Date Histogram aggregation. What happens if you set this to Date Histogram?

You might want to inspect the request and response in Kibana ([https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/tutorial-inspect.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/tutorial-inspect.html)) as a first step to make sure things look right. You may also want to check that REC Month actually has some variance on the data
