# Date vs date\_range field

I am wondering how to choose between using a standard date field and the new date\_range field. Any advice?

A previous topic suggested that aggregations aren't supported on date\_ranges, is this still the case?

If I have something like an event\_date field for example, what factors should I weigh when choosing?
