# Datestamp to @timestamp

Hi,

So i need to parse this date format from my log:

**01/19/21-15:00:26.308390**

to the @timestamp so i can filter it in Kibana.

So far it looks like this:

```auto
  match => { "message" => "%{DATESTAMP:mystamp}
  date {
    match => ["mystamp" , "MM/dd/yy-HH:mm:ss.SSS"]
    timezone => "UTC"
    target => "@timestamp"
  }

```

But it's returning this tag error: "\_dateparsefailure"

What am i doing wrong ?

If you have 6 digits of sub-second precision you need to use

```
MM/dd/yy-HH:mm:ss.SSSSSS

```
