# Default index template for streams

Is there a way to create a default index template for the newer streams from the Elastic Agent for example. I am wanting to set the replica count to 0 for all streams. This was pretty easy to do for the legacy templates but not completely certain how to do this for the newer templates that are for the stream type. Thanks.
