# Delete Replica after N days ILM

Looking at the documentation it seems to say that if you only have hot nodes you can't set a lifecycle policy to remove replicas after a certain time period. You would have to migrate to a warm/cold node to be able to do this. Is this correct? If so why not have this be possible with ILM?

There's currently no [action](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/ilm-actions.html) to do that, but it's an interesting idea. It would be worth creating a feature request on GitHub 🙂
