# Deprecated Index Lifecycle Policies

Hi guys,

I recently upgraded my ES/Kibana to 8.18.2 and I've noticed that some of the lifecycle policies are showing that they are deprecated. A couple, "metrics" and "logs" both have a lot of indexes applied to them. I've been looking through the documentation, but I can't seem to find any guides about replacing these with non-deprecated policies. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction for the documentation related to which policies I should use instead, and how to apply them?
