We are deprecating support for Apache Pig, Apache Storm, Hadoop 1, Spark 1, and Scala 2.10 on Spark 2 (we are still supporting Scala 2.11 and 2.12 on Spark 2). See [Deprecating old technology by masseyke · Pull Request #1845 · elastic/elasticsearch-hadoop · GitHub](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch-hadoop/pull/1845) for details.

Support for these technologies is not going away right now, but we are now formally marking them as deprecated, and plan to remove them in a release about 18 months from now.

If you are using one of these older technologies, please plan to upgrade to a newer Hadoop or Spark version over the next 18 months.
