# Detect Systems Type with Elastic

Hello, I have seen in Observability, that elastic agent can collect metrics regarding metadata information about the host its monitoring.  
Like OS, Cloud Provider, Service Name

I have not seen whether elastic agent can detect if a host is a VM or a physical server, is this possible?
