# Dev tools and api documentation (Kibana 6.3.1)

Hi,

I use Kibana 6.3.1 and the development tool, i understood that i should be able to get the API documentation using the action icon.

But i get "Copy as Curl" and "Auto indent" only.

Could someone explain why and how to ge the "API Documentation" menu item ?

Hi Nick,

Thanks a lot for your anwser, I guess that Kibana 6.4 can be connected to Elastic 6.3.1, so i just need to change Kibana for a newest one.

Are you certain that Kibana 6.4 works with Elasticsearch 6.3.1? It doesn't appear that way in the product matrix. [https://www.elastic.co/support/matrix#matrix\_compatibility](https://www.elastic.co/support/matrix#matrix_compatibility)
