# Dev-Tools gone

Could someone tell me why my Dev-Tool are gone? What makes them get removed? Are they stored in the cache of my local machine?

They are stored in localstorage within your browser, There is an open elastic issue on GitHub: [[Console] Use of localStorage · Issue #93909 · elastic/kibana · GitHub](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/93909)

There has been suggestions to store it within an index but it doesn't look like it has gone far see: [Save Kibana console queries to the cluster. · Issue #23488 · elastic/kibana · GitHub](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/23488)

Sorry to say that if you refresh your browser/use a diffrent machine you'll lose the history. would highly recommend making a cheatsheet and updating it regularly in a textfile/notes file.
