# Different version between Elasticsearch and Logstash

Is it okay to run Logstash with version(7.13.0) different from our Elasticsearch version(7.10.2)?

Then is there any way to downgrade Logstash ?  
I have to do that in ubuntu 18.04 but I couldn't find the exact way

Hi,

I think just install an old version downgrade it.  
In ubuntu you can specify the version you want to install like this :  
`sudo apt-get install logstash=7.13.0`

I already did that but

```
>> apt-get install logstash=7.10.2
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree       
Reading state information... Done
E: Version '7.10.2' for 'logstash' was not found

```

this message appear ..
