Hi,

Is it possible to do it with the cluster update settings API ?

Thanks

Sure is! Have you looked in the docs for it?

Yes, but I haven't found anything (cf [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/allocation-awareness.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/allocation-awareness.html))

For your information, the setting was applied in the configuration file and I really need to disable it without restarting the node because I keep having some unassigned shards.

Ahh you want [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/shards-allocation.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/shards-allocation.html)

Yes, I do know this link 🙂. I have already tried to set cluster.routing.rebalance.enable to none but it didn't seem to work. Is it the good parameter ?

`cluster.routing.allocation.enable` should be set to `all`.
Don't touch any of the others.

Ok but the shard allocation awareness will still be active and that's not what I want.

Oh right sorry, then set it to `none`.

</div>

By setting the parameter to none, the allocation will be completely disabled. I just want to disable shard allocation awareness, not the shard allocation.
