Hi,

Is it possible to disable elastic apm agent on a running server without causing any server downtime?

I don't know how elastic is going to behave in one of my environments and would like the ability to turn it off without causing any server downtime if possible, I checked the docs but couldn't find anything relating to this.

Thanks!

Yes, you can set [`active`](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/agent/java/current/config-core.html#config-active) to `false` at runtime via the `elasticapm.properties` or by setting the corresponding system property.
