# Discover tab missing after xpack default user password change

Ouch! - just changed the default passwords for elastic, logstash\_system & kibana as per documentation guides (5.4.1) and after restarting my cluster and my kibana - the Discover tab is no longer present.

Can anyone help 🙂

Hi,

You need to provide some more information in order for us to offer meaningful help.

- After, changing the passwords, did you update the password for the elasticsearch user in `kibana.yml` and `logstash.yml` as described [here](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/5.4/setting-up-authentication.html) ?
- What exactly do you mean by

> the Discover tab is no longer present

  - Are other tabs visible ?
  - Do you get an authentication error?
  - Something else?

Selecting the correct index pattern brought it back - a non-problem after all.
