# Discover: The \_source field is not searchable

Hello,

After updating my index pattern when I go to discover I have the flowing error **Discover: The \_source field is not searchable**  
have you an idea of what that error means?

Hmm, which version of Kibana/Elasticsearch are you using, and could you provide the mapping for your indices?
