I've read the [blog on how to build lsbeat](https://www.elastic.co/blog/build-your-own-beat) and I've gone through the [tutorial on creating a custom beat](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/libbeat/current/new-beat.html), but I can't seem to find documentation on what needs to go into `_meta\fields.yml`. I'm not sure if the [documentation for metricbeat fields.yml](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/metricbeat/5.2/creating-metricbeat-module.html#_fields_yml_2) applies since my beat doesn't have modules. I've looked at other community beats and some seem to include @timestamp and count while others only seem to have only the fields that are specific to the custom beat and don't include @timestamp. Is this documented outside of the beats how-to information? If not, what is the format of fields.yml supposed to be? ---

fields.yml as documented can be used on global level as well. e.g. the key just just a name. ---
