# Does a non indexed field ("index": "no") has doc\_values enabled by default?

(elasticsearch 2.4.6)

Hello,

From the elasticsearch documentation we can read that all fields (excepted analyzed ones) have "doc\_values" enabled by default.

But what about field where "index" = "no"?
