# Does ES have the ability to detected index corrpution due to error sector of harddisk and dealing with this issue with replacation?

I have met this issue and the server keep throwing exception. So I'd like to ask if ES has such utility so I can leavage it.

What makes you think that there is index corruption?

the server keep throwing below exception:  
failed to read latest segment infos on flush  
java.io.IOException: Input/output error:
