# Dotnet agent configuration

Hi All,

i want to monitor [ASP.NET](http://ASP.NET) Core application running on docker container and i have setup the integrated apm server on different server, now i want to monitor .net application using .net apm agent but when i look onto the docs its confusing and not specific.

kindly let me know the step to perform on the linux server where application ( i have buid by pulling an image from docker hub) running on the container.

i want to route .net apm metrices to my apm server url.

**Kibana version** :8.14.3

**Elasticsearch version** :8.14.3

**APM Server version** : 8.14.3

**APM Agent language and version** : dotnet latest

**Browser version** : na

**Original install method (e.g. download page, yum, deb, from source, etc.) and version**:

**Fresh install or upgraded from other version?**

**Is there anything special in your setup?** For example, are you using the Logstash or Kafka outputs? Are you using a load balancer in front of the APM Servers? Have you changed index pattern, generated custom templates, changed agent configuration etc.

**Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior. Please include screenshots (if relevant)**:

Hi, @Sachin_Chourasiya.

Our [docs](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/agent/dotnet/current/setup.html) should get you started. You have two main options:

1. Register the agent Using the NuGet package(s) with minor code changes.
2. Using the profiler-based auto-instrumentation.

I tend to recommend the NuGet option. While it requires some code changes and recompilation, it gives more control and can be more straightforward than the profiler approach.

Which of these did you plan to use?
