# ECE on RHEL 8.x

Hi,
I would like to confirm if we can run ECE on RHEL 8.x servers.
Reading the Support Matrix ([https://www.elastic.co/pt/support/matrix#matrix\_os](https://www.elastic.co/pt/support/matrix#matrix_os)) we can see RHEL 8.X is compatible with some recent components, like beats, but it doesnt refer to ECE or Product and Operating System.

The OS version list for ECE is [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/cloud-enterprise/2.4/ece-prereqs-software.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/cloud-enterprise/2.4/ece-prereqs-software.html)
The wording is slightly ambiguous ("RHEL 7 or later") but I just checked and we do not currently test against RHEL or Centos 8, so it counts as not supported.
