# Elastic agent on the cluster side?

Hi,

I'm setting up a cluster with three nodes OnPremise. Until now, I used metricbeat and filebeat to get metrics and logs about the nodes.

Should I use Elastic Agents on the nodes instead? What do you recomend?

[Monitoring overview | Elasticsearch Guide [7.15] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/7.15/monitoring-overview.html) still recommends the stand alone Beats at this stage.
