Please don't post images of text as they are hard to read, may not display correctly for everyone, and are not searchable.

Instead, paste the text and format it with `</>` icon or pairs of triple backticks (```), and check the preview window to make sure it's properly formatted before posting it. This makes it more likely that your question will receive a useful answer.

It would be great if you could update your post to solve this.

Here you probably need to fix/remove the setting you added.

It's also appreciated if you don't just post a topic with a single - hard to read as David mentions - image, with nothing else. Are you just sharing your log or are you asking for assistance?

I got to this situation after i got errors in elasticsearch logs that related to memory:

````
    ```stacktrace": ["org.elasticsearch.transport.RemoteTransportException: [elasticsearch-master-2] `Preformatted text``Preformatted text`[10.42.0.144:9300][internal:cluster/coordination/join]",
    "Caused by: org.elasticsearch.cluster.coordination.CoordinationStateRejectedException: became follower",
    "at org.elasticsearch.cluster.coordination.JoinHelper$CandidateJoinAccumulator.lambda$close$3(JoinHelper.java:467) [elasticsearch-7.6.1.jar:7.6.1]",
    "at java.util.HashMap$Values.forEach(HashMap.java:981) [?:?]",```

````
Then i make some research in the net and found that i should change "java options" in elasticsearch.yaml. So i changed them to: esJavaOpts: "-Xmx8g -Xms8g" instead of esJavaOpts: "-Xmx6g -Xms6g". After that change i got the error that i mentioned in the previous message:
> ```
> {"type": "server", "timestamp": "2021-05-12T08:34:02,871Z", "level": "ERROR", "component": "o.e.b.ElasticsearchUncaughtExceptionHandler", "cluster.name": "elasticsearch", "node.name": "elasticsearch-master-2", "message": "uncaught exception in thread [main]",
> "stacktrace": ["org.elasticsearch.bootstrap.StartupException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: unknown setting [node.remote_cluster_client] please check that any required plugins are installed, or check the breaking changes documentation for removed settings",
> "at org.elasticsearch.bootstrap.Elasticsearch.init(Elasticsearch.java:174) ~[elasticsearch-7.6.1.jar:7.6.1]",
>
> ```
Note: Elasticsearch app is part of ELK application that runs on k8s( Rancher) based on 3 servers with the following resources: 8 CPU and 32 RAM and NFS storage. Let me know if other information such as yaml files for the 3 applications will help to find the root cause of that issue.
Appreciate your help 🙂
You probably need to remove this setting `node.remote_cluster_client`.
I did not added to the yaml file. Wired this setting was added automatically, after deleting it from k8s yaml everything works fine.
I see something in the Rancher (k8s) that i Can not understand if it is correct or not:
> [docker.elastic.co/elasticsearch/elasticsearch:7.6.1](http://docker.elastic.co/elasticsearch/elasticsearch:7.6.1) + 1 image
I used the chart yamle from:[https://github.com/elastic/helm-charts/blob/master/logstash/values.yaml](https://github.com/elastic/helm-charts/blob/master/logstash/values.yaml) with some minor modifications. Deploy the app with new values and got 2 images in k8s. Any idea?
Thanks for you help
Can you just please explain the error part of the memory (see above). And how could i resolve it. Cause i am pretty sure that it will happen again and broke the application ?
I honestly don't know anything about running Elasticsearch in such an env...
I just have a few comments.
- I'd use the 7.12.1 instead of 7.6.1 which is quite old. And the `node.remote_cluster_client` has been added I think in 7.7.
- I don't see anywhere the `node.remote_cluster_client` setting so I'm not sure where this is coming from.
