# Elastic Cloud Enterprise 1.0.1 released

Hi all

Version 1.0.1 is minimal maintenance release that will ensure that clusters on new ECE installations default to version 5.4.1 of Elasticsearch and Kibana due to a few security vulnerabilities discovered in Kibana and Elasticsearch 5.4.0 (please refer to [this blog post](https://www.elastic.co/blog/elasticsearch-5-4-1-and-5-3-3-released) to learn more).

If you previously installed version 1.0.0, you do not need to upgrade your ECE installation. You can [add the Elastic Stack pack](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/cloud-enterprise/current/ece-manage-elastic-stack.html#ece-manage-elastic-stack-add) for version 5.4.1 and then upgrade your clusters.

You should upgrade the `admin-console-elasticsearch` and `logging-and-metrics` clusters used by ECE and any existing 5.4.0 clusters that you might have created. There is currently no supported method for deleting Elastic Stack packs, but we recommend that you do not create any new 5.4.0 clusters.

The installation process of version 1.0.1 is identical to that of version 1.0.0, please refer to the [ECE installation documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/cloud-enterprise/current/ece-installing.html) for more details.
