# Elastic-endpoint process still running when I stop the elastic-agent service

Hello, we have installed elastic-agent-7.12 on Ubuntu 18.04 to test Endpoint security recently,  
but we found the elastic-endpoint take a quit large CPU,  
we decide to sopt it temporarily.

while we stop the service elastic-agent (it's now in inactive)  
the process elastic-endpoint is still running.

How can I stop it correctly? Can I just kill the process?

Thanks for using Endpoint Security.

You can manually stop the Endpoint by following these commands: [Configure and install the Elastic Endpoint integration | Elastic Security Solution [7.13] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/security/current/install-endpoint.html#uninstall-endpoint)
