# Elastic Logging Plugin for Docker: is the connection encrypted?

This question is about the [Elastic Logging Plugin for Docker](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/loggingplugin/current/log-driver-overview.html), which doesn't have it's own category on the Elastic forums as far as I can see, but since it is based on Beats I'm posting here. Apologies if misplaced.
My question is simply whether the connection to Elastic Cloud is encrypted when using the `cloud_id` and `cloud_auth` connection options?

Hi @kthy
Yes all communications with Elastic Cloud are encrypted.
Basiclly The `cloud_id` gets "decrypted" into the https URL
