# Elastic map custom layer, picture as layer?

How can I add my own custom layer to elasticsearch map (image/vectormap)?  
Specifically I ahve a map of coverage of signal antenas and I want to update the map regularly / on daily basis and use it as bottom picture where I can place records from elastic index..

To complete @mattkime answer, this other blog post goes through the process of generating a service from a non geospatial image, in this case a hockey court
