# Elastic rally-tracks stable branch

Hi All,

I am looking to use the elastic rally tracks stable branch. I see there are list of branches but am not able to figure out the latest stable branch to use. kindly help me out.

Hello, Rally automatically selects the correct branch based on the Elasticsearch version you're benchmarking. There is no "stable branch". See [Track Reference — Rally 2.4.0 documentation](https://esrally.readthedocs.io/en/stable/track.html#custom-track-repositories) for details.

When i download data with the download script for offline mode. How is it going to downloads tracks without the Elasticsearch version? As it doesn't take any Elasticsearch version in offline case
