I don't know what could be the impact. You need to test it on another server.

But as you may have seen in the documentation, to run this operation, **you must block the index** for write operations.

```auto
PUT /idx-discoveryproduct/_settings
{
  "settings": {
    "index.blocks.write": true 
  }
}

```
