# Elastic Search Cross cluster replication

Hi Team,
I have a cluster with 3 nodes in primary region (all nodes are data nodes and master-eligible).
My requirement is to setup cross cluster replication in secondary region for disaster recovery.
Can I setup CCR with 1 node in secondary region or we need to have same number of nodes in primary and secondary region?
If I have 3 nodes in primary region, do I need minimum 3 nodes in secondary region to setup cross cluster replication?

no. The nodes' number doesn't need to be exactly the same. You just need to connect to the cluster and setup the CCR tasks.
