# Elastic search instillation problem

i am trying to install elastic search in my laptop  
but i am always getting this message when i try to run the bin/elasticsearch in command line  
\Common was unexpected at this time.  
my elastic search version is :6.4.0  
and the java version is:10.0.2

Hi, I got the same problem:

D:\Elastic\elasticsearch-6.4.0\elasticsearch-6.4.0\bin\>elasticsearch.bat  
\Common was unexpected at this time.

I also removed Java from PATH, as suggested in another thread, but that didn't work.

Ok I fixed it.

I set the JAVA\_HOME environment variable to where Java is installed.
